My name is Sarah Ragan and I live in the Ragan House with my groom and our red husky, Maple. I have always loved drawing and keeping a full sketchbook – I have drawn animals and named my drawings for as long as I can remember. I love working with my hands, and I'm happy that my technique allows me to use so many interesting mediums.
I studied print making and Italian at Auburn University, where I was challenged and grew to appreciate an artisan approach to creating. I am very inspired by Italy and the colors of the country. I love browns, olives, umbers, siennas - any color found in the cities and Italian countryside. I love the slow life of Italians, and I want to capture the stillness and restfulness that I felt when studying there.
I have drawn from my childhood experiences continually during my artistic career. I was very imaginative as a child, and I want to circle back to what fueled my creativity then and serve to bring this spirit into the Bambini collection. I hope they will inspire the same sense of imagination for the children who will be viewing them.
